Deputy for Student-Teacher Affairs Announces the Participation of Elite Karate Athletes in the National University Team Selection Camp for the World Championships in Brazil
According to the Public Relations Office of Farhangian University, Vahid Alamiyan, Deputy for Student-Teacher Affairs, announced the participation of elite karate athletes from Farhangian University in the national selection competitions for the student karate team (kata and kumite), for both men and women, ahead of the World University Championships in Brazil. He stated that these top athletes, identified through talent‑scouting programs, took part in the selection competitions held on 13–14 February of this year at the Kabkanian Sports Complex.
Alamiyan added that 17 male and 20 female athletes competed in kata and kumite at these national university selection trials, which were held with the participation of multiple teams from universities and higher education institutions across the country.
He also noted the composition of the participating athletes: selected male athletes came from the provinces of Qazvin, Fars, Mazandaran, Razavi Khorasan, Kurdistan, Markazi, Qom, Isfahan, and Tehran, while the female team members represented Razavi Khorasan, Mazandaran, and Tehran provinces.
Based on the results of these competitions, the top performers will be selected to represent Iran at the World University Karate Championships in Brazil.
In conclusion, Alamiyan emphasized that holding such competitions helps identify outstanding athletic talents, strengthen team spirit, and promote vitality and dynamism within the student community of Farhangian University.
